The script is the most important part!

The script dictates the entire story for your video, from deciding what the voiceover will say, to the movement and action on screen, the script is the foundation to your entire video. And you wouldn’t build a house without a floor plan now would you?

So how do I write the perfect script?

Ok so as a business owner, you’ll know your product better than anybody! But how well do you know your customers? Before diving into your script, do a bit of research and find out what they care about. Once you’ve surveyed potential customers, you should be able to create a script that speaks directly to them and gives them what they want. Be sure to find out the problem that they face and show how your product will solve that problem.

The main features…

Keeping your script short and simple may be difficult for you to do, but it is vital for converting sales. Your customers will not sit through a video much longer than a minute, no matter how amazing you think it is! You need to pick out your key selling features. Your market research should be able to pinpoint what your customers want from a product, so be sure to use that to your advantage.

Features v Benefits…

Yes it is important to put the main features into your video, but you need to be able to explain how they will benefit your customers. My advice would be to make the benefits more prominent, as your audience is much more likely to buy into your product if they can see exactly how it will help them. You may think that your feature explains this, but don’t always count on it.

If they want to know more, they’ll call!

You may think that showing off every single feature in your video is the way to sell your product, but believe me it’s not. In reality it will just turn people off, so be sure to leave them wanting more! The CTA at the end of your video is crucial for attracting more customers to your website.

Don’t think that because you haven’t mentioned every single feature, they might not want to hear anymore from you, if you do your research right, you’ll know exactly what your audience wants.
